Nell Bryden - live in Cambridge

Last night the lovely Nell Bryden put Lucy & I on her guest list for her show at the Junction.
It was amazing to her Nell sing with just her guitar (last time she had her band) Amazing voice! awesome guitar playing, she even did a brilliant version Robert Johnsons 'Hellhound on my Trail'  originally recorded in 1937.

A song that I personally love is Helens Requiem - Glory to the day sounded amazing, and Nell told us about the person she wrote it about. Tear jerking stuff!

Below are a few snaps from the show.

The Beautiful photography is by Scott Gilbert and we love the images he has sent to us, Claire and John must be super pleased...and how cute are the flower girls?!

So here is Claire and John's big day, they married in October last year at Swynford Paddocks Hotel, with a few words from the bride to get us started...enjoy!

We had a truly amazing wedding day, and after more than a year planning everything came together perfectly -we didn’t stop smiling all day.  We couldn’t believe our luck with the weather being so good, something we certainly didn’t expect in October!  We were so happy to share our special day with all our family and friends and couldn’t have done it without them. Black & White Film Silver Efex Pro2 - Coming Feb 2011

Nik Software -Silver Efex Pro 2 Black-and-White Conversion Software

One of my favorite plug-ins looks like it just got better. Nik Software announced it will release Silver Efex Pro 2 for Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Apple Aperture next month.

The original Nik Silver Efex Pro 1 released over two years ago.

This revamped black-and-white conversion application has three major changes.

• Better quality algorithm for converting images to black-and-white
• Increased functionality
• Improved user interface

But for me, the addition of Natural Film Borders (see link)
I currently use Onone Softwares photo frame pro, and have always experienced problems with the batch script. So fingers crossed Nik can deliver.

Features in the new application offer increased control over detail, contrast and tonality. There's also a wide variety of new presets, letting you transform you color images into eye-catching black-and-whites.
Nik has tried to improve the shadow transitions in the midtones  (smoother.)
Digitally converted black-and-whites look more natural & mimic true silver halide black-and-white photographs.  Oh Yes!

Silver Efex Pro 2 does not have any new film type filters added to the current library of 82 film types.

Some other key new features in Silver Efex Pro 2:

•    New History Browser lets you compare previous edits and different looks
•    New Dynamic Brightness enables adaptive brightening adjustments for different areas in the image
•    New Amplify Blacks and Amplify Whites increases the presence of highlights and shadows adaptively throughout the image
•    New Visual Presets categorized by photographic style provide single-click starting points, which can be edited and shared with others
•    New Soft Contrast applies contrast based on image details
•    New Fine Structure brings out small details and textures
•    New Image Borders use organic image elements to create random borders, giving classic darkroom-style edges a modern look
•    New Selective colorization easily adds color elements back into images utilizing U Point technology to precisely select objects
•    New GPU Processing take advantage of the processors on advanced display adapters to provide faster performance
